The Willow Tree Figurines Collection was first created by artist Susan Lordi in 2000. Lordi creates the original carvings of each culture by hand-carving blocks of clay. As she carves the figurative sculptures, she takes inspiration from feelings of love, comfort, and joy, as well as life's special moments. Pieces are then made out of a resin cast of the original carving. The fine details in the original carving and resin cast are the same, ensuring that every product looked like a hand-carved statue.
